یوزف آلویس شومپِیتر ( آلمانی: ; ۸ فوریه ۱۸۸۳ – ۸ ژانویه ۱۹۵۰ ) [ ۱] اقتصاددان و سیاسی دان اتریشی آمریکایی بود. او در ۱۹۱۹ مختصری به عنوان وزیر امور مالی اتریش کار کرد. او از تأثیرگذارترین اقتصاددانان قرن بیستم بود و لفظ «تخریب سازنده» را در علم اقتصاد باب کرد. [ ۲]
او دکترای خود را در دانشگاه وین، به سرپرستی اویگن بوم فن باورک نظریه پرداز سرمایهٔ اتریشی دریافت کرد.
