جمعیت عمومی به طور کلی به گروهی از افراد اطلاق می شود که اکثریت جامعه را تشکیل می دهند و هیچ تخصص یا اعتبار تخصصی در زمینه خاصی ندارند. این می تواند به افراد در هر سن، جنسیت، نژاد و طبقات اجتماعی و اقتصادی اشاره داشته باشد.
